He has won over 90% of his trials, including several seven-figure verdicts in the last few years. Mr. Knight’s track record of success and his reputation in the legal community have been acknowledged by the many peer-review and invitation-only organizations that have recognized Mr. Knight for his work as a personal injury trial lawyer.
Board-certification is the highest honor and distinction recognized by the Florida Bar and designates an attorney as a specialist in his field. The Florida Bar utilizes the most intensive peer-review program of any organization in determining who qualifies to be board-certified and less than 1% of active Florida attorneys are board-certified civil trial lawyers. To remain board-certified, a lawyer needs to be re-certified every five years. Mr. Knight was certified in 2005 and recertified in 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025.
In addition to being a board-certified civil trial lawyer, Mr. Knight has received numerous other awards and accolades, including being recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and Top Verdicts of 2025. Mr. Knight is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), which is an invitation only organization that recognizes the top trial attorneys in the country.
Mr. Knight also has a unique perspective of defense tactics. After graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 1997, Mr. Knight spent over two decades representing defendants in personal injury lawsuits. He then switched sides to represent the injured in the most aggressive and strategic ways possible. Mr. Knight offers keen insights into the tactics of the defense industry, and he has cultivated strategies throughout his career on how to beat them, which has led to numerous six and seven figure settlements and verdicts.
Along with being a successful trial attorney, Patrick is a renowned public speaker and published author. He routinely speaks on overcoming tragedy at Victim Advocate and Support Group events, churches, police departments, hospitals, conferences, and many other locales. Mr. Knight authored the book Blessed to Survive – The Thanksgiving Day Massacre where he discusses the mass-shooting event that took his family and left him in a coma for three months, including detailed discussion about his recovery both physically and mentally to move forward in his new reality. Having overcome personal tragedy as the victim of a mass-shooting, Mr. Knight has now found his calling as a lawyer to represent injury victims. He offers a unique ability to empathize with the wrongfully injured, understanding what they are going through after suffering a life-changing event.
Mr. Knight was born in Westmont, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and the University of Miami Law School. He resides in Parkland, Florida with his wife and two children. Patrick is also part-time faculty as a coach for the High School and Jr. High Mock Trial teams at American Heritage Palm Beach.
