Two Killed, Two Seriously Injured in Miami Beach Crash

Two people lost their lives and another two suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle Miami Beach crash early on the morning of Saturday, April 17.

Preliminary investigations show that a single vehicle with four occupants was involved in the accident. The vehicle was identified as a dark-colored SUV. Two of the SUV’s occupants were men while the other two were women.

The SUV was traveling along the Pine Tree Drive at the time the Miami Beach crash occurred. According to Miami Beach Police, it happened at around 5:45 a.m. Authorities are not yet sure how the crash came about but the available evidence suggests that the SUV tried to avoid a collision with a second vehicle. This second vehicle was coming from the opposite direction and its driver turned left as it drew close to the SUV.

The driver of the SUV apparently swerved away in an attempt to avoid hitting the turning vehicle. This caused the SUV to move away from the roadway and crash into a tree at a high rate of speed. The sheer impact of the collision caused serious damage to the SUV and it caught fire following the impact.

Of the two men traveling in the vehicle, one died on the scene of the accident. By the time the first responders arrived on the scene of the crash, they found the other three occupants also seriously injured. The second man had suffered critical injuries.

All three injured parties were transported to the JMH’s Ryder Trauma Center. The injured man succumbed to his injuries and died at the hospital. The two women were reported to be in a non-critical condition.

In crashes like this, liability lies with one of the two drivers. If the second vehicle’s driver is found to have acted negligently, the victims of this crash or their next-of-kin can file for damages against the at-fault driver. A Miami car accident lawyer can help the victims file the claim and seek a fair compensation.
