Three FSU Students Killed in Tallahassee Fatal Crashes

Three Florida State University students were killed in two separate Tallahassee fatal crashes that occurred over the weekend. One of the accidents was a pedestrian crash in which the victim was crossing the road when she was hit.

According to the details shared by the Tallahassee Police Department, one of the crashes involving two FSU students took place at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. The other crash involving a third FSU student happened a few hours earlier.

The single student was hit by a car as she was attempting to cross the street near FSU. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at around 2 a.m.

Preliminary reports from the police show that the student was running north on Pope Street. As she attempted to cross the intersection at the Pope and West Georgia Streets, she was struck by a vehicle. She sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim was identified as Camryn Rohr, 19, and had enrolled at the university only this fall.

The second accident involving two students took place close to the Apalachee Parkway along a service road. The two students were traveling in a Kia Optima at the time. At around 7:30 p.m. the two tried to turn left from the service road and head east. It was then that their vehicle was hit by a truck. Reports from the police show that the truck was driving at around 70 mph when the collision occurred. It was identified as a Ford F350.

Both FSU students sustained critical injuries and died in the incident. They were identified as Victor Pena and Sean Shearman. Both had enrolled at the university back in 2016 and Pena had already graduated during the 2020 summers.

TPD continues to investigate both Tallahassee fatal crashes. At this time, police have not ruled out alcohol, speeding or any other factors as probable causes.
