Four people suffered serious injuries in a rollover crash on I-75 in Pasco. The crash took place on the evening of Friday, July 30. It was reported to the authorities at around 5 p.m.
According to the details shared by the Pasco County Fire Rescue, the sole vehicle involved in the incident was identified as a pickup truck. The vehicle was driving along the evening commute on I-75. As it reached near mile marker 283, the driver apparently lost control. The pickup truck then rolled over several times on the roadway leading to the rollover crash on I-75.
A number of occupants were traveling in the pickup at the time of the crash. Pasco Fire Rescue confirmed that several individuals were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover incident. At least four people suffered serious injuries in the crash. Three of these were adults and one of the injured victims was a child.
Once the crash was called in, paramedics and first responders rushed to the scene of the crash. Given the seriousness of the injuries of the victims, medical helicopters were called in. All the four injured victims were then airlifted to area hospitals for emergency treatment.
Traffic on I-75 was halted to allow the helicopters to land and evacuate the injured victims. This resulted in traffic congestion on the Interstate from State Road 56 all the way to the mile marker 283. After on-site investigations and cleanup had been conducted, the roadway was reopened and the traffic finally cleared up at around 8 p.m.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash. None of the victims injured in the crash have been identified so far. It remains to be seen exactly what caused the crash.
