One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Boca Raton over the weekend. The fatal wreck took place just before noon on Saturday, June 26. It was reported to the authorities at around 11:25 a.m.
According to the details shared by the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash in Boca Raton occurred in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95. It involved a van, a tractor-trailer, and a sedan.
All the three vehicles were traveling southbound along the I-95 at the time the crash occurred. It began when the sedan which was traveling at some distance ahead of the tractor-trailer tried to switch lanes and come into the lane where the tractor-trailer was traveling. This caused the tractor-trailer to hit the rear side of the sedan.
The impact of the collision caused the tractor-trailer to veer out of the driver’s control. It then sideswiped the van before crashing into a concrete barrier.
Three people were traveling in the tractor-trailer at the time. These included the driver and two passengers. The driver was identified as a 40-year-old man from Coral Springs. He remained safe in the incident and had no injuries to report. One of the passengers, a Fort Lauderdale man aged 26, also remained completely safe.
However, the second passenger was ejected from the tractor trailer during the collision. He suffered critical injuries and died at the scene of the crash. He was identified as a 63-year-old man from Miami. The deceased victim was not wearing a seatbelt when the collision occurred.
The sedan also had three occupants in it, including two passengers. All three occupants remained safe in the crash. The driver was identified as a Boynton Beach woman aged 37.
It is possible for the survivors and family members of the deceased victim to seek compensatory damages from the negligent driver. For Boca Raton crashes like these, a Boca Raton car accident lawyer can help victims or victims’ families recover compensation.
