A West Boca Raton crash claimed the lives of five, among which were three teens.
The fatal crash occurred early on the morning of Sunday, May 30. It was reported to the authorities at around 1 p.m.
According to the details shared by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, one of the vehicles involved in the crash was identified as a 2013 Hyundai Genesis. This vehicle had eight occupants in it at the time, all of them quite young. The driver was identified as Ramiro Gomez, 18, of Deerfield Beach. Gomez had one passenger in the front seat with him and another six passengers traveling in the back seat.
The Hyundai Genesis was headed eastbound along the Camino Real in West Boca Raton at the time. As the vehicle drew close to the Sanibel Drive intersection, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a high rate of speed. This caused the Hyundai to go onto the median and crash into a light pole.
Following the Boca Raton crash, the vehicle veered into the westbound lanes and finally came to rest upside down on a second vehicle. This second vehicle was identified as a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C250.
During the accident, six of the backseat passengers in the Hyundai were ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the Hyundai as well as two other teen passengers suffered fatal injuries. These were identified as Brielle Snowden, 13, and Sebastian Rivas, 13, both of Boca Raton. All three succumbed to their injuries and died on the scene.
The other five children in the Hyundai, aged between 12 and 14, suffered serious injuries. The Mercedes-Benz had two occupants in it at the time of the crash. Both were transported to the Delray Medical Center with critical injuries where they died.
In tragic accidents like these involving young drivers, vicarious liability and responsibility may be established with the help of Boca Raton car accident lawyer.
